GET TOGETHER AT PORT TOBACCO TIKI BAR WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
On September 15th approximately 30 classmates and their friends came together to enjoy a great evening together. It was good to see some of our friends come from near and so far away for the "informal" reunion...
Tony Narr from So. Carolina, John Wilson from Arizona, Chuck Paglio fron New Jersey,
Toby King du Cellier from West Virginia, and Becky Lanham Shamblen from Hampton, Virginia.
We will try to get things organized for another informal gathering, maybe sometime in early December??? Hopefully those that missed this get together, because they had previous plans, will be able to join us.
Attached is a link to the Kodak Photo Gallery containing the photos with names taken during the evening.
40th CLASS REUNION REVIEW
We held our 40th Class Reunion during the week-end of August 11-13, 2006. We started off the week-end with a Friday evening social that was held at Damon's Restaurant located in the Holiday Inn in Waldorf. The social was attended by approximately 40 classmates. It was an enjoyable evening.
Saturday night was the formal 40th Class Reunion which was held at the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Community Center in Waldorf, Md. The formal was attended by approximately 110 or more classmates and with guests included, we had approximately 150 people that attended the reunion.
The reunion kicked off at 7pm with a set down dinner.
From 9 to 12, a DJ played some of the oldies from our golden school days plus many other selections to dance the night away. Many of classmates roamed around the hall visiting with others reminencing about the old days and what has happened in their life since our school days. For all - it was one of our best reunion yet.
On Sunday, we joined in with the "Summer Splash" picnic which was held at the Temple Hills Swim Club. It was was hosted by the Class of 1968 who extended the invitation to fellow classmates from the Classes of '1966 to '1973. They graciously set it for this day to give us and everyone else a better chance to mingle with old friends who graduated during those years.
For our past 35th Class Reunion (July 6-8, 2001), we started off the week-end with a Friday evening social that was held at Damon's Restaurant located in the Holiday Inn in Waldorf. The social was attended by approximately 40 classmates who reminisced about the old days. We talked about the where-about's of our classmates who have not been heard from in a number of years. Some reestablished old acquaintances. It was an enjoyable and relaxing evening. Click here to see some of the faces of those who attended the evening social.
Saturday night was the formal 35th Class Reunion which was held at the Greater Waldorf Jaycees Community Center. in Waldorf, Md. The formal was attended by approximately 80 or more classmates and with guests included, we had approximately 150 people that attended the reunion.
As fellow classmates arrived - they had the opportunity to gaze at some the old Classic Cars and Street Rods from our days and to reminisce about their first car. (Thanks to Dave Fowler and his group for bringing their street Rods and making this possible...)
The reunion finally kicked off at 7pm with a set down dinner.
From 9 to 12, a DJ played some of the oldies from our school days plus many other selections to dance the night away.
We gave out a number of door prizes that were donated by some of our classmates (BIG thanks to John Harrison who donated a group of tickets to a Bay Socks game) and other contributors. Disposable cameras were set at each table in hopes that someone would take candid shots of those classmates/friends. These cameras were collected at the end of the evening and the photos that were of sufficient quality have been posted in our reunion photos section of our web site.
On Sunday, Richard and Diane Porter hosted a family picnic at their home for those classmates who were able to make the trip for a relaxing day in their backyard. (Thanks to Richard and Diane for your kind hospitality).
