Glenn Wilson Parsons, 72, longtime resident of Suwanee, Georgia, passed away Nov. 3,2020, after an illness.
Born in Mount Union, he was the son of the late Glenn C. Parsons (chief master sergeant, USAF) and Emma L. (Atherton) Parsons.
He is survived by two brothers, J Robert Parsons, Kissimmee, Florida, and Timothy J. Parsons, Ellicott City, Maryland, his sister-in-law, Lauren Parsons and three nieces.
Mr. Parsons is also survived by Cynthia Reeves, his loving and devoted life partner of many years who resides in Dacula, Georgia.
He was predeceased by his parents, both of whom had resided in Mount Union.
Mr. Parsons grew up with his family during his father’s U.S. Air Force assignments in New York, New Jersey, Tennessee, Ohio and finally in the Washington, D.C., area. He began is professional career in D.C. with the National Park Service, National Capital Region, Division of Finance. He later joined the United States Park Police, serving with distinction in a variety of uniformed and plainclothes assignments. Following his career as a police officer, he served as an investigator for the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
After retiring from his government career, he followed his love of horticulture and community service, becoming a master gardener volunteering advice to people in the Atlanta area. I AM SORRY TO LEARN OF YOUR PASSING. WE BECAME FRIENDS YOUR FIRST DAY AT STODDART. WE HAD THE SAME HOME ROOM.
WE SHARED A LOT OF THE SAME INTERESTS BUT AS TIME AND OUR DAILY LIVES OCCUR FRIENDS OFTEN TRAVEL DIFFERENT PATHS.
