Alumni News for our Crossland '66 Classmates
Sad News - Passing of Daryl "Butch" Palmer
We received the sad news of the passing of one of our fellow classmates..
Daryl "Butch" Palmer. His Funeral Services were held at Lee's Funeral Home on June 5th with burial at Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery. I want to share with you these words that came forth by email from Joyce Compton:
….there are so many wonderful, sincere and important words that have been said about the feeling that takes place when you hear the words ~passed away~the one thing that always happens,
My heart hurts every time one of us passes….
My granddaughter and I say prayers every night, we end with ~ Bless everyone we have known and loved ~ and everybody that died ~ we started ending our prayers with “and everybody that died” on 9/11 when she was just a couple years old. Some we knew, most we didn’t but it didn’t make any difference, we could have known them, just as we know our classmates that are still here and those that have died…..
We are all part of this wonderful most intricate thing we called life, which ultimately gets in the way of our looking forward and reflection…
More Local Get-Togethers Planned
It was good to have another get together at Damons Restaurant on February 16th with about 20 of our classmates. Everyone had a great time. Pictures of the evening with names are now posted on Kodak Photo Gallery's website. Click here to visit the website.
There are still plans in the works for another gathering in the late summer (since we missed spring) for a larger get together - maybe for most to enjoy our 60th birthday celebration.
We will give details soon.

Class Reunion Photos
Photos from our past reunions and get togethers are being posted on Kodak Photo Gallery's website. Click here to visit the website. You can view or use their online services to purchase individual photos or albums. Each reunion is broken up into individual albums.
Get-Together at the Port Tobacco Tiki Bar was a great success
On September 15th approximately 30 classmates and their friends came together to enjoy a great evening together. It was good to see some of our friends come from near and so far away for the "informal" reunion...
Tony Narr from So. Carolina, John Wilson from Arizona, Chuck Paglio fron New Jersey,
Toby King du Cellier from West Virginia, and Becky Lanham Shamblen from Hampton, Virginia.
We will try to get things organized for another informal gathering, maybe sometime in early 2008??? Hopefully those that missed this get together, because they had previous plans, will be able to join us.
Attached is a link to the Kodak Photo Gallery containing the photos with names taken during the evening.
